Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (for slurry)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Season chicken lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, vinegar, and black pepper. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  4. Whisk in cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens, about 2 minutes.
  5. Return chicken to skillet and toss to coat with sauce.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
