Description
Soft and fluffy apple fritter bites filled with cinnamon-spiced apples, fried to golden perfection, and coated with a sweet glaze.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup apples, peeled and finely diced
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, then fold in diced apples.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil and fry for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make glaze.
- Dip warm fritter bites into glaze or drizzle on top.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Best served warm and fresh.
- Try using different apple varieties for flavor variation.
- For baked version, bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes.
