Description
A hearty, family-friendly baked ravioli casserole layered with cheese, marinara sauce, and tender pasta — all the flavors of lasagna with half the effort.
Ingredients
- 1 (25 oz / 700g) bag frozen cheese ravioli
- 3 cups (720ml) marinara or pasta sauce
- 1 cup (120g) ricotta cheese
- 2 cups (200g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for greasing)
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with olive oil.
- Spread about 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of the dish.
- Arrange half of the frozen ravioli in an even layer over the sauce.
- Top with half of the remaining sauce, half of the ricotta, and half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Repeat layers with remaining ravioli, sauce, ricotta, and cheeses.
- Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 10–15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
Notes
- No need to thaw the ravioli before baking — they cook perfectly from frozen.
- For a meaty version, add cooked ground beef or Italian sausage between layers.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- This dish also freezes well — assemble ahead and bake from frozen with 10 extra minutes of cook time.
