Description

A comforting and hearty beef noodle casserole made with ground beef, egg noodles, tomato sauce, and cheese. Perfect for a family-friendly dinner.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, draining excess fat if needed.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. In a medium bowl, mix sour cream and cottage cheese until combined.
  7. Layer half of the cooked noodles in the prepared dish. Spread half of the sour cream mixture on top, followed by half of the meat sauce. Sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded cheddar.
  8. Repeat layers with remaining noodles, sour cream mixture, meat sauce, and cheese.
  9. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
