Description
A flavorful Cajun shrimp boil tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce with corn, potatoes, and smoked sausage for the ultimate Southern feast.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds large shrimp, deveined, shells on
- 1 pound baby red potatoes
- 4 ears corn on the cob, cut into thirds
- 12 ounces smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
- 4 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
- 2 bay leaves
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water and bring to a boil. Add potatoes, bay leaves, Old Bay, and 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning. Cook for 10–12 minutes until potatoes are almost tender.
- Add corn and sausage to the pot. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Add shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes until pink and opaque. Drain and transfer everything to a large bowl or tray.
- In a skillet, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic, remaining Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour garlic butter sauce over the shrimp boil ingredients and toss well to coat.
- Squeeze fresh lemon over the top and garnish with parsley before serving.
Notes
- Serve with crusty bread to soak up the garlic butter sauce.
- You can substitute crab legs or crawfish for shrimp for variety.
- Adjust Cajun seasoning for spice preference.
