Description

Cheesy Ground Beef Rice Casserole is a hearty, family-friendly baked dish made with seasoned ground beef, tender rice, and plenty of melted cheese in a creamy sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Add onion and garlic to the beef and sauté until softened. Drain excess fat.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cooked beef mixture, uncooked rice, beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared casserole dish and spread evenly.
  6. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove foil, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
  8. Return to the oven uncovered and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish if desired.
