Description
Chicken Cordon Bleu Meatloaf is a flavorful twist on the classic dish, combining tender ground chicken with layers of turkey ham and Swiss cheese baked into a juicy, comforting meatloaf.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb ground chicken
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- 6 slices turkey ham
- 6 slices Swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a loaf pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large bowl, mix the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, Dijon mustard, and parsley until just combined.
- Press half of the mixture into the prepared loaf pan.
- Layer the turkey ham evenly over the meat, then add a layer of Swiss cheese slices.
- Top with the remaining chicken mixture and press gently to seal the edges.
- Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the loaf.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Resting the loaf before slicing helps keep it juicy and prevents the cheese from spilling out.
- Swap Swiss for provolone or mozzarella if desired.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a crisp salad.
- For extra crunch, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end (watch closely).
