Soft and chewy cookies that combine the richness of cheesecake with classic chocolate chip cookies, featuring a creamy center and crisp edges.
Ingredients
- 225 g cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
- Bake for 12–14 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and centers are set.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Chilling the dough for 30 minutes results in thicker cookies.
- Do not overbake; cookies will continue to set as they cool.
- You can use dark or milk chocolate chips based on preference.
