Description
Cinnamon Roll Loaf Bread is a soft, fluffy yeast bread swirled with a buttery cinnamon-sugar filling and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. It combines all the comforting flavors of classic cinnamon rolls in an easy-to-slice loaf form.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the Filling:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- For the Glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, and salt. Stir until combined.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for 6–8 minutes on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and roll it into a rectangle (about 9×15 inches).
- Spread softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon mixture on top.
- Roll the dough up tightly from the long side. Slice in half lengthwise, twist the two halves together with the cut sides facing up, and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze. Drizzle over the warm loaf before serving.
Notes
- For an extra gooey loaf, add a few tablespoons of cream cheese to the glaze.
- Ensure milk isn’t too hot when activating yeast or it may kill it.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
- Warm slices taste amazing with a pat of butter or a drizzle of icing.
