Description

Cinnamon Roll Loaf Bread is a soft, fluffy yeast bread swirled with a buttery cinnamon-sugar filling and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. It combines all the comforting flavors of classic cinnamon rolls in an easy-to-slice loaf form.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • For the Filling:
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, sugar, egg, vanilla, and salt. Stir until combined.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for 6–8 minutes on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down dough and roll it into a rectangle (about 9×15 inches).
  6. Spread softened butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon mixture on top.
  7. Roll the dough up tightly from the long side. Slice in half lengthwise, twist the two halves together with the cut sides facing up, and place in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes until puffy.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze. Drizzle over the warm loaf before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra gooey loaf, add a few tablespoons of cream cheese to the glaze.
  • Ensure milk isn’t too hot when activating yeast or it may kill it.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
  • Warm slices taste amazing with a pat of butter or a drizzle of icing.
