Description

Cream Puff Cake is a light and airy dessert made with a choux pastry-style crust, topped with a smooth vanilla cream filling and finished with whipped topping and chocolate drizzle.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • Chocolate syrup or chocolate shavings for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in flour until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes until puffed and golden. Cool completely.
  7. In a bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.
  8. Whisk in milk and pudding mix until thickened.
  9. Spread the cream filling over the cooled crust.
  10. Top with whipped topping and drizzle with chocolate syrup.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • Do not open the oven while baking the crust.
  • Make sure the crust is fully cooled before adding the filling.
  • Chill well for best texture and clean slices.
