A rich and flavorful creamy Cajun chicken pasta made with Parmesan, garlic, and mozzarella for the perfect balance of spice and cheesiness.
Ingredients
- 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces fettuccine or penne pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to boil and cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Season chicken strips with Cajun seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until golden and cooked through, about 5–6 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter and garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth. Stir in Parmesan, mozzarella, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until sauce thickens, 3–4 minutes.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in sauce.
- Return chicken to the skillet and stir until everything is combined and heated through.
- Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust Cajun seasoning to your spice preference.
- For extra richness, add a splash of cream cheese to the sauce.
