- 20 large white or cremini mushrooms, stems removed and cleaned
- 8 oz (225g) lump crab meat, drained
- 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp Old Bay seasoning (optional)
- 1/4 cup (30g) breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Clean the mushrooms and remove stems, patting dry with a paper towel. Arrange mushroom caps on the baking sheet.
- In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic, Parmesan cheese, green onions, salt, pepper, and Old Bay seasoning. Mix until smooth.
- Gently fold in the crab meat until evenly distributed.
- Spoon the crab mixture into each mushroom cap, mounding slightly.
- In a small bowl, combine breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over each stuffed mushroom.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and mushrooms are tender.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
- Use fresh lump crab for the best flavor, but canned crab can work in a pinch.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of lemon juice or hot sauce to the filling.
- These can be made ahead and baked just before serving.
