Description

Savory mushrooms filled with a rich, creamy garlic crab mixture, baked to golden perfection — an elegant appetizer or party favorite bursting with seafood flavor.

Ingredients

  • 20 large white or cremini mushrooms, stems removed and cleaned
  • 8 oz (225g) lump crab meat, drained
  • 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Old Bay seasoning (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (30g) breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Clean the mushrooms and remove stems, patting dry with a paper towel. Arrange mushroom caps on the baking sheet.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic, Parmesan cheese, green onions, salt, pepper, and Old Bay seasoning. Mix until smooth.
  4. Gently fold in the crab meat until evenly distributed.
  5. Spoon the crab mixture into each mushroom cap, mounding slightly.
  6. In a small bowl, combine breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over each stuffed mushroom.
  7. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and mushrooms are tender.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • Use fresh lump crab for the best flavor, but canned crab can work in a pinch.
  • For extra flavor, add a splash of lemon juice or hot sauce to the filling.
  • These can be made ahead and baked just before serving.
