Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cream cheese (optional for extra creaminess)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional for garnish)


Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  2. Whisk in flour to create a roux and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Slowly pour in milk or cream while whisking continuously to prevent lumps.
  4. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until sauce begins to thicken.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Add cream cheese if using and stir until smooth.
  6. Cook for another minute, then remove from heat. Adjust seasoning as desired.
  7. Use immediately as a pizza base sauce or let cool for dipping.
