Description

A rich and creamy seafood medley featuring shrimp, mussels, and calamari simmered in a garlic cream sauce, perfect for an elegant yet easy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 250g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 250g mussels, cleaned and debearded
  • 200g calamari rings
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken or seafood broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the onion until soft and translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add calamari and cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender, then remove and set aside.
  5. Add shrimp to the pan and cook until pink, about 2–3 minutes per side, then remove.
  6. Add mussels and pour in the broth. Cover and cook for 5–7 minutes until mussels open. Discard any that remain closed.
  7. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, paprika, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
  8. Return shrimp and calamari to the pan and simmer for 3–4 minutes until everything is heated through and coated in the sauce.
  9. Stir in lemon juice and garnish with fresh parsley.
  10. Serve hot with crusty bread, rice, or pasta.

Notes

  • Do not overcook seafood to avoid a rubbery texture.
  • Use fresh mussels and discard any that are open before cooking.
  • You can substitute cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • Add white wine (1/4 cup) for extra depth of flavor.
