Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs frozen or homemade meatballs
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 packet (1 oz) dry onion soup mix

- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

- Transfer the caramelized onions to the crock pot.
- Add the frozen or pre-cooked meatballs to the crock pot.
- Pour in beef broth, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 4–6 hours or on high for 2–3 hours, until meatballs are heated through and flavors are well combined.
- Before serving, sprinkle shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese on top, cover again, and let it melt for 10–15 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- For extra richness, use homemade caramelized onions instead of soup mix.
- Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread for a complete meal.
- Use turkey or chicken meatballs for a lighter version.
