Description
Famous Crab Bombs are indulgent seafood appetizers made with jumbo lump crab meat mixed with creamy, savory ingredients, formed into balls, and baked or fried until golden and irresistible.
Ingredients
- 1 lb jumbo lump crab meat, picked clean
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, mayonnaise, mozzarella, and Parmesan until smooth.
- Stir in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, and black pepper.
- Gently fold in crab meat and green onions, being careful not to break up the crab.
- Form the mixture into medium-sized balls.
- Roll each ball lightly in breadcrumbs.
- Place crab bombs on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle with melted butter.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden and heated through.
- Serve hot with dipping sauce of choice.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2 minutes.
- Can also be deep-fried for a crunchier texture.
- Serve with lemon wedges or garlic aioli.
