Description

A quick and flavorful savory garlic ginger beef stir-fry made with tender cabbage, aromatic garlic and fresh ginger, all tossed in a rich umami sauce. This easy one-pan skillet meal is perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium carrot, julienned
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the sliced cabbage and julienned carrot to the skillet. Stir to combine.
  5. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.
  6. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • For a low-carb version, serve alone or over cauliflower rice.
  • Add bell peppers, mushrooms, or snap peas for extra vegetables.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
