Description
A quick and flavorful savory garlic ginger beef stir-fry made with tender cabbage, aromatic garlic and fresh ginger, all tossed in a rich umami sauce. This easy one-pan skillet meal is perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1 medium carrot, julienned
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary.
- Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the sliced cabbage and julienned carrot to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- For a low-carb version, serve alone or over cauliflower rice.
- Add bell peppers, mushrooms, or snap peas for extra vegetables.
