Ingredients
- 500 g ground chicken
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for tzatziki)
- 1 clove garlic, minced (for tzatziki)
- Salt to taste (for tzatziki)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, parsley, dill, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1½ inches in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the meatballs, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through, about 10–12 minutes.
- While the meatballs cook, prepare the tzatziki sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, and salt in a bowl.
- Taste and adjust seasoning of the tzatziki as needed.
- Serve the warm chicken meatballs with tzatziki sauce on the side or drizzled on top.
Notes
- Bake the meatballs at 200°C for 18–20 minutes for a lighter option.
- Serve with pita bread, rice, or a fresh Greek salad.
- Tzatziki sauce can be made up to 2 days in advance.
- Add feta cheese to the meatballs for extra richness.
