Description

Greek Chicken Meatballs with Tzatziki Sauce are juicy, herb-packed chicken meatballs served with a cool and creamy yogurt-cucumber sauce. This Mediterranean-inspired dish is light, flavorful, and perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground chicken
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for tzatziki)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (for tzatziki)
  • Salt to taste (for tzatziki)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, parsley, dill, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1½ inches in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the meatballs, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through, about 10–12 minutes.
  5. While the meatballs cook, prepare the tzatziki sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, and salt in a bowl.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning of the tzatziki as needed.
  7. Serve the warm chicken meatballs with tzatziki sauce on the side or drizzled on top.

Notes

  • Bake the meatballs at 200°C for 18–20 minutes for a lighter option.
  • Serve with pita bread, rice, or a fresh Greek salad.
  • Tzatziki sauce can be made up to 2 days in advance.
  • Add feta cheese to the meatballs for extra richness.
