Description
Flavorful Greek-style grilled chicken wraps filled with tender marinated chicken, fresh vegetables, and a creamy garlic yogurt sauce wrapped in soft flatbread.
Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 large pita breads or flatbreads
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/2 cucumber, sliced
- 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (for sauce)
- 1 clove garlic, finely minced (for sauce)
- 1 tbsp fresh dill or parsley, chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Add chicken breasts and coat well with the marinade. Let marinate for at least 20–30 minutes.
- Preheat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat.
- Grill the chicken for 5–7 minutes per side or until fully cooked.
- Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes, then slice into thin strips.
- Prepare the garlic yogurt sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, and dill in a small bowl.
- Warm the pita breads slightly on a skillet or grill.
- Place grilled chicken slices in the center of each pita.
- Add lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and red onion.
- Drizzle garlic yogurt sauce over the filling.
- Wrap tightly and serve immediately.
Notes
- Chicken can also be cooked in a skillet if a grill is not available.
- Add feta cheese or olives for extra Mediterranean flavor.
- Use whole wheat pita for a healthier option.
- Leftover chicken can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
