Ingredients

  • 12 oz linguine
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley


Instructions

  1. Cook the linguine in salted boiling water according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and butter, and let it simmer until slightly thickened, about 3–4 minutes.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  7. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  8. Add the cooked linguine, red pepper flakes (if using), and parsley. Toss until well combined and heated through.
  9. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
  • Use fresh shrimp for best flavor and texture.
  • For extra depth, add a splash of lemon juice before serving.
