Description
Crispy golden fries topped with juicy seasoned steak, sautéed peppers and onions, and smothered in melted cheese for a bold and indulgent loaded Philly cheesesteak-inspired dish.
Ingredients
- 500g frozen or fresh French fries
- 300g ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the French fries according to package instructions until crispy and golden.
- Season the sliced steak with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the steak for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions and bell peppers until soft.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Return the steak to the skillet and mix with the vegetables.
- Place cooked fries on a serving tray or dish.
- Top fries with the steak and vegetable mixture.
- Sprinkle cheese evenly over the top.
- Place under a broiler or in the oven for 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Use freshly cut fries for better texture if possible.
- Provolone gives the most authentic Philly flavor.
- Add jalapeños or hot sauce for extra heat.
- Serve immediately to keep fries crispy.
