Description

A hearty one-pot pasta dish featuring tender steak strips simmered with zesty tomato sauce, garlic, and Italian spices, tossed with pasta for a quick and flavorful dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 (24 oz) jar zesty marinara or tomato pasta sauce
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 12 oz penne or rigatoni pasta
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil or parsley, chopped


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add sliced steak and sear until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Season with salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Pour in pasta sauce and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Add pasta directly to the pot and cook, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens, about 12-14 minutes.
  6. Return steak to the pot and toss to combine. Cook for 2-3 more minutes until heated through.
  7. Sprinkle with Parmesan and garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
