A hearty one-pot pasta dish featuring tender steak strips simmered with zesty tomato sauce, garlic, and Italian spices, tossed with pasta for a quick and flavorful dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 (24 oz) jar zesty marinara or tomato pasta sauce
- 3 cups beef broth
- 12 oz penne or rigatoni pasta
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/4 cup fresh basil or parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add sliced steak and sear until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.

- Season with salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour in pasta sauce and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Add pasta directly to the pot and cook, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens, about 12-14 minutes.
- Return steak to the pot and toss to combine. Cook for 2-3 more minutes until heated through.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan and garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
Notes
- Cut steak thinly against the grain for maximum tenderness.
- Use a spicy marinara for extra zest.
- Can substitute chicken or sausage for variation.
