Crispy Parmesan-crusted chicken breasts served with a rich and creamy garlic sauce for a flavorful and comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for sauce)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pound chicken breasts to even thickness. Season with salt and pepper.
- Set up breading station: flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and a mixture of panko, Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in the third.
- Dredge chicken in flour, dip in eggs, then coat in breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F/74°C). Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until sauce is smooth and thickened.
- Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over the top, and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Pairs well with mashed potatoes, pasta, or roasted vegetables.
- You can substitute half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
- Add spinach or sun-dried tomatoes to the sauce for extra flavor.
