Description
A savory fusion dish combining the best of both worlds — juicy burger flavors layered with gooey cheese and rich pizza toppings, all baked into a golden, flaky pie crust.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 ready-made pie crust (9-inch)
- 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the meat is browned and the onion is soft. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Line a pie dish with the pie crust and pour in the beef mixture.
- Top with mozzarella, cheddar cheese, and pepperoni slices.
- Brush the crust edges with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- You can add veggies like bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- Use turkey or plant-based meat as a lighter option.
- Great for leftovers — reheats well in the oven or air fryer.
