Description
Juicy burgers topped with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, and pepperoni for a cheesy pizza-inspired twist on a classic sandwich.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 12 slices pepperoni
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for toasting buns)
- Fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 burger patties.
- Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until cooked through (internal temperature 160°F/71°C).
- In the last minute of cooking, spoon 2–3 tablespoons of marinara sauce over each patty and top with mozzarella cheese. Cover pan or close grill lid until cheese is melted.
- Toast hamburger buns in a skillet with olive oil until golden brown.
- Assemble burgers: place patties on buns, top with 3 slices of pepperoni each, and add extra marinara if desired.
- Garnish with basil or parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- For extra flavor, spread garlic butter on buns before toasting.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- Add sautéed mushrooms, onions, or bell peppers for a supreme pizza-style burger.
