Description

Juicy burgers topped with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, and pepperoni for a cheesy pizza-inspired twist on a classic sandwich.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 12 slices pepperoni
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for toasting buns)
  • Fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 burger patties.
  2. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until cooked through (internal temperature 160°F/71°C).
  3. In the last minute of cooking, spoon 2–3 tablespoons of marinara sauce over each patty and top with mozzarella cheese. Cover pan or close grill lid until cheese is melted.
  4. Toast hamburger buns in a skillet with olive oil until golden brown.
  5. Assemble burgers: place patties on buns, top with 3 slices of pepperoni each, and add extra marinara if desired.
  6. Garnish with basil or parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, spread garlic butter on buns before toasting.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
