A hearty, protein-packed bowl featuring tender seared steak, juicy chicken, and steamed broccoli, all smothered in a rich and creamy cheddar cheese sauce. Perfect for a comforting low-carb dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Season the steak and chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 6–8 minutes until golden and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and sear the steak slices for 3–5 minutes until browned and cooked to desired doneness. Remove and set aside.
- Steam the broccoli florets for 4–5 minutes until tender but still bright green.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted and smooth.
- Assemble bowls by layering broccoli, steak, and chicken. Pour the cheese sauce over the top and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a richer sauce, substitute half-and-half or heavy cream for the milk.
- You can use mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese for a milder flavor.
- Add cauliflower rice or brown rice for a heartier meal.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
