Description

A hearty, protein-packed bowl featuring tender seared steak, juicy chicken, and steamed broccoli, all smothered in a rich and creamy cheddar cheese sauce. Perfect for a comforting low-carb dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Season the steak and chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 6–8 minutes until golden and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and sear the steak slices for 3–5 minutes until browned and cooked to desired doneness. Remove and set aside.
  4. Steam the broccoli florets for 4–5 minutes until tender but still bright green.
  5. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  6. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
  7. Reduce heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted and smooth.
  8. Assemble bowls by layering broccoli, steak, and chicken. Pour the cheese sauce over the top and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, substitute half-and-half or heavy cream for the milk.
  • You can use mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese for a milder flavor.
  • Add cauliflower rice or brown rice for a heartier meal.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
