Ingredients
- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C) and grease a pie dish or oven-safe skillet.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked.
- Sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir to coat evenly.
- Gradually add milk while stirring constantly to prevent lumps.

- Simmer for 5–7 minutes until the gravy thickens.
- Pour sausage gravy into the prepared dish.
- Lay puff pastry over the top, trimming excess and pressing edges to seal.
- Brush the pastry with beaten egg.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
