Ingredients
- 8 oz elbow macaroni (about 2 cups)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp paprika (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook macaroni according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is soft. Drain excess fat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Sprinkle ranch seasoning and flour over the beef. Stir to coat evenly.
- Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until smooth and slightly thickened (about 3β4 minutes).
- Stir in sour cream, butter, black pepper, and 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- Add cooked macaroni to the skillet and mix until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and top with the remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese. Sprinkle with paprika if desired.
- Bake uncovered for 15β20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
