Ingredients

  • 1 baguette or Italian loaf, sliced lengthwise
  • 4 tbsp butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix softened butter and minced garlic together, then spread evenly over the bread halves.
  3. Drizzle the bread lightly with olive oil.
  4. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes or until edges are golden and crisp.
  5. In a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, salt, pepper, and basil.
  6. Spoon the tomato mixture over the warm garlic bread.
  7. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and sprinkle with Parmesan if using.
  8. Slice and serve immediately.
