Ingredients
- 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese, well drained
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips, divided
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Additional powdered sugar for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, sealing the seams.
- In a large bowl, beat ricotta cheese, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, and egg until smooth.
- Fold in 3/4 cup of the mini chocolate chips.
- Spread the cannoli filling evenly over the crescent dough layer.
- Unroll the second can of crescent dough and carefully place it over the filling, pinching seams together.
- Brush the top with melted butter.
- Combine granulated sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Allow the bake to cool for at least 20 minutes.
- Sprinkle with the remaining mini chocolate chips.
- Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.
- Slice into squares and serve warm or chilled.
