Description

Cannoli Stuffed Crescent Bake is a warm and indulgent dessert featuring flaky crescent roll dough layered with a sweet ricotta cannoli filling, mini chocolate chips, and a buttery golden crust. Finished with powdered sugar and chocolate chips, it delivers all the flavors of a classic cannoli in an easy baked casserole.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese, well drained
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Additional powdered sugar for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Unroll one can of crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, sealing the seams.
  3. In a large bowl, beat ricotta cheese, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, and egg until smooth.
  4. Fold in 3/4 cup of the mini chocolate chips.
  5. Spread the cannoli filling evenly over the crescent dough layer.
  6. Unroll the second can of crescent dough and carefully place it over the filling, pinching seams together.
  7. Brush the top with melted butter.
  8. Combine granulated sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  10. Allow the bake to cool for at least 20 minutes.
  11. Sprinkle with the remaining mini chocolate chips.
  12. Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.
  13. Slice into squares and serve warm or chilled.

Notes

  • Drain the ricotta thoroughly to prevent a watery filling.
  • Mini chocolate chips distribute more evenly throughout the dessert.
  • Pistachios can be added for a traditional cannoli flavor variation.
  • This dessert can be served warm, room temperature, or chilled.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
