Ingredients
- 2 lbs cooked shredded beef roast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/2 cups shredded provolone cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 slices French bread, cubed
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onions and cook for 12-15 minutes until deeply caramelized.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add cream of mushroom soup and cream cheese, stirring until smooth.
- Fold in the shredded beef and half of the provolone cheese.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Top with mozzarella cheese and remaining provolone cheese.
- Toss bread cubes with melted butter and sprinkle evenly over the casserole.
- Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with parsley and serve with extra warm beef broth for dipping if desired.
