Ingredients
- 1 loaf Italian bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 6 oz turkey pepperoni, sliced
- 6 oz turkey salami, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup sliced banana peppers
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread the bread cubes evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion and bell peppers and cook for 4-5 minutes until softened.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in Italian seasoning, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Add turkey pepperoni and turkey salami and cook for 2 minutes.
- Spread the meat mixture evenly over the bread cubes.
- Sprinkle mozzarella, provolone, and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top.
- Whisk together eggs and milk in a bowl.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the casserole.
- Top with banana peppers.
- Allow the casserole to sit for 10 minutes so the bread absorbs the custard.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
