Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and chopped
- 1 tablespoon flour (for coating cherries)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Toss chopped cherries with 1 tablespoon flour and gently fold into the flour mixture.
- In a small bowl, combine heavy cream and vanilla extract.
- Pour the cream mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead 3-4 times.
- Pat dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle and cut into 8 biscuits.
- Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 14-16 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow biscuits to cool slightly.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over warm biscuits and serve.
