Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries, chopped
- 1 tablespoon flour (for coating cherries)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Toss chopped cherries with 1 tablespoon flour and gently fold into the dough.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and pat into a 1-inch-thick rectangle.
- Cut into 8 biscuits using a biscuit cutter or knife.
- Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 14-16 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly on a wire rack.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over the warm biscuits.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
