Description

Garlic Steak Tortellini is a rich and satisfying one-pan meal featuring tender seared steak bites, cheese-filled tortellini, and a creamy garlic Parmesan sauce. This restaurant-quality dinner is ready in under 40 minutes and is perfect for weeknight meals or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs beef sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 20 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the cheese tortellini according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the steak with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Sear the steak for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet.
  6. Add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  7. Pour in the beef broth, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  8. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  9. Whisk in the Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.
  10. Stir in the Dijon mustard and lemon juice, if using.
  11. Return the steak and cooked tortellini to the skillet, tossing gently to coat in the sauce.
  12. Cook for 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  13. Garnish with fresh parsley and basil before serving.

Notes

  • Cook the steak to medium-rare or medium for the most tender texture.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts more smoothly than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Add mushrooms or spinach for extra vegetables.
  • Avoid overcooking the steak when returning it to the sauce.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
