Description

Lemon Dill Garlic Butter Shrimp is a quick and flavorful skillet dish featuring juicy shrimp sautéed in a rich garlic butter sauce with fresh lemon and fragrant dill. Ready in just 20 minutes, this elegant seafood meal pairs perfectly with rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry and season with paprika, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet.
  5. Add the garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes, if using.
  7. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce.
  8. Cook for 1 minute until heated through.
  9. Stir in the fresh dill and parsley.
  10. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the shrimp or they may become rubbery.
  • Fresh lemon juice and dill provide the brightest flavor.
  • Add asparagus, spinach, or zucchini for extra vegetables.
  • Serve over pasta, rice, cauliflower rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
