Description

Pizza Burger is a fun, family-friendly meal that combines a juicy beef burger with classic pizza flavors. Topped with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, beef pepperoni, and Italian seasonings on a toasted bun, it’s the perfect fusion of two comfort food favorites.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 16 slices halal beef pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet or grill over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the burgers for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  5. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, spoon pizza sauce over each burger.
  6. Top each burger with mozzarella cheese, beef pepperoni, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover the skillet or close the grill lid until the cheese is melted.
  8. Lightly toast the hamburger buns.
  9. Place each pizza burger on a toasted bun.
  10. Sprinkle with dried oregano and garnish with fresh basil and crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
  11. Serve immediately with fries, chips, or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded mozzarella for the best melt.
  • Turkey pepperoni can be substituted for beef pepperoni.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms, olives, or bell peppers for extra pizza toppings.
  • Brush the buns with garlic butter before toasting for extra flavor.
  • Leftover patties can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
