Description

Ranch Pretzel Mac Bake is a creamy, cheesy baked macaroni casserole loaded with tender pasta, a rich ranch cheese sauce, crunchy pretzel topping, and plenty of melted cheddar and mozzarella. This comforting family-friendly dish is perfect for weeknight dinners, potlucks, or game day gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup crushed pretzels
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the macaroni according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  4. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  5. Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream until smooth.
  6. Cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce begins to thicken.
  7. Stir in the ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  8. Add the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses, stirring until completely melted.
  9. Fold the cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce until evenly coated.
  10. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
  11. Mix the crushed pretzels with the remaining melted butter and sprinkle evenly over the macaroni.
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes until hot and bubbly with a golden topping.
  13. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Add cooked shredded chicken or crispy halal beef bacon for extra protein.
  • Freshly shredded cheese melts more smoothly than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Do not overcook the pasta before baking.
  • Use thick pretzel twists or rods for the crunchiest topping.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
