Description

Salted Caramel Croissant Pudding is a luxurious baked dessert featuring buttery croissants soaked in a rich vanilla custard, layered with salted caramel, and baked until golden, crisp on top, and creamy in the center.

Ingredients

  • 6 large buttery croissants, torn into pieces
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup salted caramel sauce, divided
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Flaky sea salt for garnish
  • Whipped cream for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread croissant pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Drizzle 1/2 cup of salted caramel sauce over the croissants.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissants.
  6. Gently press the croissants into the custard and let soak for 15 minutes.
  7. Drizzle melted butter over the top.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and the custard is set.
  9. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.
  10. Drizzle remaining salted caramel sauce over the pudding.
  11. Sprinkle lightly with flaky sea salt.
  12. Serve warm with whipped cream if desired.

  • Do not overbake to keep the center soft and creamy.
  • Homemade salted caramel sauce can be used for enhanced flavor.
