Description

Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls are soft, fluffy homemade rolls filled with buttery cinnamon sugar and sweet strawberry preserves, then topped with a rich cream cheese frosting. These bakery-style rolls are perfect for breakfast, brunch, holidays, or a special dessert.

Ingredients

  • For the Dough:
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm whole milk (110°F/43°C)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • For the Filling:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup strawberry preserves or strawberry jam
  • 1 cup finely diced fresh strawberries, patted dry
  • For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tablespoons whole milk, as needed

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of the sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the remaining sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add the flour and knead for 8-10 minutes until a smooth, elastic dough forms.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1½ hours, or until doubled in size.
  5. Roll the dough into a 16×12-inch rectangle.
  6. Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle evenly with the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Spread the strawberry preserves over the cinnamon layer and scatter the diced strawberries evenly on top.
  8. Roll the dough tightly from the long side into a log and cut into 12 equal rolls.
  9. Arrange the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
  12. Beat together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth and fluffy.
  13. Spread the frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve.

Notes

  • Pat the diced strawberries dry to prevent excess moisture in the filling.
  • Use high-quality strawberry preserves for the best flavor.
  • Pour 1/4 cup heavy cream over the rolls before baking for extra soft and gooey cinnamon rolls.
  • Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
