Description

A classic Seafood Boil loaded with shrimp, crab, lobster, sausage, corn, and potatoes, all simmered in a flavorful seasoned broth and tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce. Perfect for gatherings and special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, shell-on
  • 1 lb snow crab legs
  • 2 lobster tails, split
  • 12 oz beef sausage, sliced
  • 1 1/2 lbs baby red potatoes
  • 4 ears corn, cut into thirds
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 1 medium onion, quartered
  • 6 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 8 cups water
  • 1/4 cup seafood boil seasoning
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley


Instructions

  1. Fill a large stockpot with water and add seafood boil seasoning, bay leaves, onion, garlic, lemon halves, paprika, cayenne, and black pepper.
  2. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
  3. Add potatoes and cook for 12-15 minutes until nearly tender.
  4. Add corn and sausage and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add lobster tails and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add crab legs and shrimp and cook for 3-4 minutes until shrimp turn pink and seafood is cooked through.
  7. Drain the seafood and vegetables, reserving 1 cup of the cooking liquid if desired.
  8. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  9. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  10. Stir in Old Bay seasoning and lemon juice.
  11. Toss the seafood, potatoes, corn, and sausage with the garlic butter sauce.
  12. Transfer to a serving platter or parchment-lined table.
  13. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust cayenne pepper to control the spice level.
  • Do not overcook shrimp, as they can become rubbery.
  • King crab legs can be substituted for snow crab.
  • Add mussels or clams for more variety.
  • Serve with extra melted butter and lemon wedges.
